Manufacture

The German merchant, astronomer and geographer Martin Behaim (1459-1507) (1459-1507) built the first world globe between 1491 and 1493 completely handmade, the globe was made by order of his hometown, Nuremberg, and it is conserved today in its museum.

There are only a few companies in the world which continue to manufacture them that way. Don Mundo, Globe Company, is one of them.

Located in the Design District in Buenos Aires, Argentina, we manufacture unique globes which are used not only to know and travel the world, but also to decorate and embellish every space.

We explore, design
and create

We intervene with art a planisphere of equidistant projection and updated cartography. We continue with the printing and die cutting process. This design process is shaped on a globe divided into segments, then the manual and craft assembly is done. All these processes give rise to a magical, unique and disruptive world globe.

Metal and in-house matrices

All the pieces that finish the Don Mundo world globes, as well as the inner sphere made in only one piece, are made of metal with our own dies.
